This is me and my pilot mates in the old Bintulu airport standing on what used to be Runway 2. Can't believe this used to be an airport runway where dozens of airplanes took off each week. I miss the times when I was still working for Air Asia. The people, the very working atmosphere were very different. There were so many domestic flights I did in a week, that I don't feel like I'm away from home. Now that I'm working for Dubai Airways, I spend a lot of times doing international flights, and while I like my job, I couldn't help but feel a little out of place with all those foreigners. I keep wishing and hoping to bump into my homies and Malaysians abroad each flight. I want to hear those familiar accents and languages again. I miss my family and the home cooked meals. Things have change a lot for me these past few months. Things change, people change, but I am still the same Elisha.

You have a pretty interesting job, though. Working for airlines is like traveling without moving, I must imagine. That must be frustrating; do you ever just want to hop on a plane and take off?
@italiano2390@xanga - I hop on an airplane every single time I go to work. It's my workplace.
@Starlite - Ohh I assumed you meant you worked at the airPORT. So how is that? Exciting? monotonous?
@italiano2390@xanga - It's definitely exciting and challenging, especially nowadays with all those security measures we have to deal with. There is always a possibility of a hijack and technical difficulties. There are also a lot of VVIP and rich people in Dubai, so chances are we will have to bump up the security just to protect these individuals.
So now the runway becomes a highway huh? I used to hate flying because I'm claustrophobic but now I'm used to it.
@angel_vow@xanga - Now you're a jetsetter huh?
@Starlite - Yes, I'm a frequent flyer. I travel out of the country at least once a month and take domestic flights every 2 weeks.
Times are really changing. Soon there will be other runways as more and more airplanes will be taking off and the expansion of an airport becomes necessary.
How times change
Yeah, times have change and I think you have for the better.
Do you like flying international and being able to travel all around the world?
I love Air Asia..really cheap air tickets around Malaysia..lol
You look pretty! There will be more and more flights in the future, so changes need to be made to the runways and airports. What used to be runways will be a highway or vice versa.
I like Air Asia for their wonderful service and budget flights, although I can afford more expensive flights.
I think you've changed though you may not realise it.
holy... do you get to go back to malaysia for free??? I'm from sabah, my dad worked for sabah air as a helicopter pilot but he doesn't get any discounts on international flights..... now he's retired since according to him the traffic in Houston is much more dangerous than back home.
haven't gone back since I got here :( missed everyone and everything there..... but i heard evertyhign changed since i left. its only been 9 years.
